What we do for residents

In an emergency, call 911 first.

Patrols

We patrol the community as per the hours posted above, six days a week. There are no patrols on Sunday.

Vacation watch

Once a week, Posse members check that your doors, windows and garage door are locked and look for damage such as rodents or leaking water. Problems are reported to you or your key holder. Request a vacation watch

Welfare checks

Worried about a resident? Friends and family can ask us to check on their well-being.

Suspicious persons and vehicles

You know your community best. If something does not look right, call us.

Solicitation

Only religious organizations, political parties, census takers and scouts may solicit in Westbrook Village. Anyone else will be asked to leave once reported.

Lost pets

We help search and will do what we can to assist the owner.

Traffic control

Provided for special events, including the NCAA Women's Golf Tournament and shredding days, and for the Peoria Police and Fire departments when requested.

Who we are

The Westbrook Posse, Inc. is made up of volunteers who serve as trained posse members and trained office dispatchers. Our mission is to protect and serve the residents of Westbrook Village and to assist the Peoria Police Department in the Village when requested.

We were formed in 1999 under the authority of the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, and at the time we were the only posse in Maricopa County operating inside an incorporated city, Peoria. In April 2018 the Posse agreed to separate from the Sheriff's Office and operate as an independent organization.

Posse members are civilians and have no peace officer status. They are not involved in the day-to-day delivery of law enforcement services.

The Posse is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, funded solely by monetary donations from the residents of Westbrook Village.
